Mahendra Singh Dhoni is one of the most loved and respected cricketers of India. He is considered as the demigod by millions of people. Dhoni is the most successful captain in the history of this game in India, having led Indian squad to win all the three ICC trophies.


This year, MS Dhoni led Chennai Super Kings added another feather to their hat by lifting the prestigious trophy of IPL for the third time. This time he came back even stronger than ever and ruled the hearts of his millions fans once again.

However, have you ever thought as to why Dhoni was selected as the captain of the team, despite the fact that there were more experienced and senior players in the team like, Yuvraj Singh, Harbhajan Singh, Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir in the team.

Recently, in an interview the same was asked to MS Dhoni. According to him, he thinks it must have been his honesty and loyalty towards the game which made him the captain of the team. He said :

“Maybe it was the honesty that I had, and my ability to read the game. Reading the game is very important, and even though I was one of the youngest in the team at that point of time, when asked about my views by a senior player, I was not afraid or hesitant to share my feelings about the game.”

Well, whatever the reason might have been, making MS Dhoni the captain of Indian cricket team was indeed a praiseworthy decision and he proved that he truly deserved it.
